Divisions

T-BALL (4-5):

The 4 & 5 year old Tee Ball program provides an instructional environment where players will learn the skills of the game, while having fun and staying active. Parents and legal guardians of Tee Ball players are crucial to the extension of the program, and their satisfaction is equally important to its success. The Tee Ball program sets the foundation for continued participation in higher levels of Attleboro Youth Baseball.

The 8-week schedule allows the players exposure to the game without an overwhelming time commitment. Tee Ball players will use baseball tees, bats and baseballs designated specifically for use in this instructional division. Within the games coaches may choose to pitch to players. During the 8-weeks coaches will hold optional weekday practices with a single game played on weekends.

The focus shall be on developing additional skills to assist players with their transition to full coach/player pitch at the next levels, while still providing full participation and ensuring the players have fun.

INSTRUCTIONAL (6):

The 6 year old Instructional division is an extension of tee ball. This division was created to help players of all skill levels to learn the progression of this great game.  Like Tee Ball players will play an 8-week schedule to allow more exposer to the evolution of the game. At this age we will start with players hitting off the tee for the first couple of weeks and will progress to coach pitch. If a player struggles after a few swings, we will put the tee back to promote swing mechanics and will give that player another try on their next at bat. We will also transition to 3 outs or 4 runs scored in an inning in an effort to keep the game moving. Coaches will be encouraged to work on the fundamentals of the game while working to promote Team, Sportsmanship and most importantly FUN!
